October has been a fun month! We have had family in from out of town...Grandpa and Cheese at the beginning of the month, a short visit from Aunt Coley, and YaYa last week. We had fun deciding on Halloween costumes and doing a few holiday craft projects together. We have been to several parties, birthday and Halloween. We went to church as a complete family of four last week for the first time in 4 months, which was great. We have a lot to be thankful for starting this new month of Thanks!
Well, Grady decide to be Santa for Halloween. After attempting to get him to try on several other costumes with NO luck, I ordered him some nice, "comfy" Santa jam-jams and Santa hat, knowing that even if they don't make it on him for Halloween, that they would get lots of good use the next 2 months. It took about 10 minutes of warming up, but after that, he has wanted to wear them all the time! It must be made clear though, he is only Santa when he has on the hat...otherwise, he is just a boy, Grady Thomas ;). And Santa had to have a little helper, of course!

This is a video of Grady making his debut at our family Halloween party last weekend...this was completely unprompted and unfortunately we missed some of the first part, where he actually made it a little further through the song. He really does know the whole thing! Not sure where he learned to work the mic like that! If he only had a better voice, I'd call him a natural! HaHa. I am pretty sure this is his favorite song. I recorded him singing it over and over again while trying to fall asleep for nap the other day. And most other songs that have the word "take" in them, usually move right on into, "take me out to the ballgame..." (Like one of the songs that John and I like to sing to him when he is going to sleep, "I love you, Lord") Thanks for teaching it to me Whi Whi! Goooo A's (or C's as Grady sometimes says)!
It has been fun feeding Henry solid food (well, I'm not sure you would call it "solid", but something other than milk!). He really did not like bananas! But this week he seems to be enjoying sweet potatoes. Eating, in general, has still been very difficult for him (and me too!)...still not nursing well, and it is a struggle to get him to take a bottle sometimes and eat his rice cereal. And when he does eat, he doesn't eat very much. We are playing around with his overnight feeds to make sure he isn't too full during the day...hoping this week things will even out. So far, he does NOT like bananas or carrots. Sweet potatoes are a hit. When he sits in the bumbo chair, he twirls his little feet around and around. We have been calling him Twinkle Toes. Just yesterday, I glanced over at G sitting in his high chair, and his little feet were doing the same thing!
Last week at the Cardiologist, everything is still the same, no change. We are increasing his newest medication very slowly...we won't be at the ideal dose for a few more weeks, so it's hard to say if it is effective. And it is a long term drug, so we may not see results from it immediately. We go again next week to increase again and a check up. His personality continues to be so joyful and easy going...he smiles so easily. No one makes Henry smile bigger that Grady. Henry adores his big brother.

A few funny things G has said lately...
**I have been getting to go back to Yoga this past week (Yea!)...I left the other night before G went to bed and returned after he was supposed to be asleep...he had asked daddy that I come kiss him when I got home. When I went in there, after getting lots of sweet hugs and kisses, he asked, "Mommy, you eat yogurt at yoga?" I explained to him how wonderful that sounded, but that no, yoga was, in fact, exercise!
**When walking up the driveway after helping daddy with the trash, he saw his huge shadow on the garage door...he waved and then walked right up to the door and gave it a hug and kiss
**While walking past the brand new Anthropologie in Walnut Creek with my mom, Grady said, "This is your favorite store, Mommy." Daddy must have mentioned that on their morning Peet's trips, which just happens to be right down the street.
