Branagh Cabana

Branagh Cabana

Monday, April 5, 2010

So much for my once a week blog posting!!! Here we are 3 weeks later, and 3 weeks older. Yes, 9 1/2 weeks old and I can't believe it! Time flies by so quickly. Everyone at the Branagh Cabana is well! I am feeling good, walking alot (the weather has been beautiful!), getting better at leaving the house with just me and Grady, figuring out our schedule a little better, making some new friends, and cooking dinner occasionally. John is loving being a daddy. He is so great at it...I love seeing him in this new role! Work is going well for him and he has managed to squeeze in a few good bike rides the past few weeks.

Then there is Grady...

He is doing so good! A happy healthy little boy! Last week at our 2 month check up he weighed 11lbs. 6 oz. and was 24 inches long. He laughs and smiles often and can carry on a whole conversation of nothing but "oooo" and "aaahhh" and "hiiiiiii"! He still eats good and is sleeping pretty well. Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks...

John and Grady studying his flash cards
We have a set of black and white picture cards and Grady loves them! He could stare and study them for hours! He loves when John talks to him and makes sounds with him. A couple of times now he has imitated the mouth movements and the noises that John makes. Pretty cute!

The Boys
Saturday morning before walking to the farmers market

Last weekend Meg's mom was out to visit...she hadn't seen Grady since the week he was born so she loved seeing how much he had grown and changed. One day the weather was perfect so Mom made a gourmet lunch and we picnicked and walked the reservoir.

The Grandmothers...YaYa (for now at least!) and Nana

Grady Bear and Bunny
This is after bath time and I just couldn't resist! Grady was in such a good mood and looked too cute! He still loves bath time. The other night, I took my fingers and was cleaning his neck, rubbing them from back to chin. He started giggling like it was tickling him!

Last weekend we took our first trip together...we went down to LA to spend Easter with Nicole! We had such a good weekend. Grady traveled well on the plane...he didn't make a peep... granted it was only a 45 minute flight! And getting through the airport with all of his stuff wasn't too bad...granted we had 4 pairs of adult hands to help! I can't imagine doing that by myself! It was a very relaxing weekend with time sitting on the beach, wonderful food, and great time together. Thanks Auntie Nics!

It was actually pretty cool for LA this time of year, but it didn't keep us far from the beach! We took full advantage of being there! It was beautiful. And Tom and John got in the ocean...crazy boys! It was so cold I didn't even want to put my feet in! On Saturday mornings, Nicole's friends play casual volleyball together and managed to talk John into playing too. His blocking was incredible, but his hitting was a little rusty! Next time we are down he will be getting a lesson from Nicole!

Papa and Grady
The running joke of the weekend was that Tom knew exactly how old Grady was down to the minute, birthday and all. But when quizzed about say, his wife's birthday or his anniversary, he was always a little off! Basically, he is smitten!

John, Meg, and Grady Easter Sunday
Yes, Grady is wearing a real button up shirt and chambray pants! Such a big boy outfit!

Oh, and on the way home on Sunday, I experienced my first earthquake! We had just boarded the plane and were sitting in the front, and I started feeling the plane rock side to side (I am very sensitive to motion and it was making me nauseous!). I asked John if he felt it too and he did but we thought it was just the wind blowing the boarding tunnel against the plane. When it finally stopped, the next passenger to walk onto the plane told us it was an earthquake!!
