Ok...major catch up happening right now! I was so good this past year, almost meeting my personal goal of 1 post per month to keep current, but I have FAILED so far in 2014. So here is an explosion of 3 months of life very well lived, condensed into a splattering of photos and a couple of quick paragraphs :)
We started 2014 already rolling...there was no major clean slate, ring in the new year, fresh feeling :) I am ok with this now, but it took me all of January (and some of February) to be at peace with this feeling. I have never been one to have January 1st do this for me, especially in my last 5 years of being a mom...I guess the holidays always feel so full in so many ways and then my first baby's birthday is the end of January; we always seem to have visitors in January, which we love, but require getting the house back to normal after Christmas and some prep. And this year, planning for G's birthday and the Heart Walk kept me pretty consumed, rather than focusing on my resolutions, goals, and blessings, all of the things that I feel like the rest of the world is doing. I have been trying to force it every year, but this year I have resolved to have the Fall be my "new year". That's when my re-set button naturally gets pushed, and I can have all of those New Year feelings and such that everyone else has in January, only in September!
The first week of January brought some of my dearest friends from Fort Worth to visit. I left all 3 boys and spent 4 days with my girlfriends...we did some of my favorite Bay Area things...explored San Fran, hiked along the water, shopped, hit the Antique Fair, olive oil and wine tasted, and ate our way through the city, through the country, and back again :) We hope this will be at least an every 2-year trip...already can't wait! I had not been away like this since I was pregnant with Henry and it was so good for me to have this time with these girls.
Playing trains, park time, and donuts at Whole Foods with Henry...3 new fun things happening around here!

Fun times with Grandpa and Cheese...
Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill gave Grady a Toys-R-Us gift certificate for his birthday. We went (for the first time!) and let G choose how he wanted to spend his money. It was the cutest thing. We walked up and down the aisles helping him understand how much money he had and how much things costs. After getting hung up on the remote control trains, cars, and trucks, he landed on a new train for his tracks (I told him he could only get 1) and spotted this Thomas umbrella near by. Sold! He swiped his card all by himself, so proud. And spent all but 2 cents of his certificate!
He is completely done with naps, but I caught him one day in his tent, covered up with the "special nappin' blanket", a huge pile of books around him.
A mini photo shoot with Henry...
Game playing, tree-climbing, puddle splashing, dress-up playing, Peter-pan loving, sleep-over having, bike riding Grady has been so fun lately! Keeping me on my toes and giving me a run for my money, but fun :)
His pictionary picture of mommy..."she is pretty, she is sweet, a nice girl, with grey toes, smiling at me with her white teeth, holding a phone in her hand...who is it??"
John got to go to Grady's school and talk about his job. G was so excited and so proud to have him there. He stood right next to him, looking up admiringly at his face the whole time he talked. The kids got to look at pictures of big construction machinery and try on John's hard hat and safety vest...they thought is was so cool. A very fun morning for all.
Backyard fun...
Top 2 photos: Only one time did enough peas make it into the house to cook and eat for dinner...the rest get shelled right off the vine and popped directly into a certain little boys mouth before they ever make it in :) Bottom 2 photos: This certain little boy, naked as a jaybird, doing his obstacle course on a warm day :)
