Henry 8/10/12 Update

I wanted to share a sweet picture of little Henry and a quick update with you all.  Henry had his left arm raised in the air the other morning and he was watching his fingers open and close.  I caught the picture below of Henry pointing to his Healer.
God has comforted our little boy so greatly this past week, and we can tell by the wonderful spirit that Henry has despite all the poking and prodding that he has endured.  We have been blessed to have some of Henry's biggest smiles, coos, and little giggles both when he wakes in the morning and right before we get him ready for bed at night.

We are thankful to have received tiny improvements in Henry's heart condition and in his weight gain over the last few days.  Some kids with this disease get worse and not better in these areas, so we are thankful we are going in the right direction.  Henry is scheduled to have a slow weekend of all the same medications and night time feedings.  Monday of next week we will have another "echo" of his heart, and we will find out the condition of his heart after 10 days of treatment.

The greatest gift that we have received throughout this week has been your prayers for Henry.  We are so thankful for all of them and we truly do not take a single one for granted.  I would like to share a few things for you to continue praying for:

- That Henry's heart is healing, and when Henry's heart is weened off of the medicine, that it will continue to heal.

- That Henry would keep his wonderful spirit throughout this time.  The Dr.'s all say that a happy, healthy, responsive child are all good indicators of what is happening inside.

- That Henry would be protected from any and all illness.  There are so many Dr.'s and nurses that touch Henry throughout the day, that are all dealing with other patients, so we pray that he would be protected.

- That God would use the Dr.'s and nurses minds and hands, to know what is the best for Henry, and what will give him the best chance to thrive.

I do want to share one prayer I heard last night, and it came from Grady.  Last night at dinner, we had just finished praying, and as we begun to eat, Grady put down his fork, folded his hands, bowed his head, and said very quietly and slowly "Dear God,...fix...Henry. Amen".

Thank you for following along and praying for Henry.

Love,
John and Meg
